Invoices and payments
The invoice comes from the sealed record, not from anything still editable.
Seal the job, make the invoice, and take payment however the customer pays: cash, check, card, or a link on their phone.

From the sealed job
- The invoice is made only from a sealed job.
- A part with no price stops it until someone prices it.
- Lines the customer turned down are not on it.
- The invoice carries the lines, the tax and the total.
- Print the receipt or send it to the customer.

Taking payment
- Record cash, check, a card taken on your own terminal, a bank transfer (ACH), Zelle, or other.
- A bank transfer or Zelle asks for the bank's reference number, so the line on the statement can be found again.
- Partial payments work, and a deposit can be taken before the work. The job shows Paid, Refunded and Balance, and the balance tracks on the register.

Card payments on your own Stripe account
- Link your own Stripe account in Settings › Integrations › Card processing. A customer pays from a link or a code, or you take a card on a phone or a reader. We add no fee; Stripe's fees apply.
- The pay link opens a page with the shop's name, what the invoice was for, what it comes to and what is still owed. The card is never typed into Scarab: the customer pays on Stripe's own page, on your account.
- Send the link by email or text, or show the customer a code to scan at the counter. A text goes only to a customer who said yes to texts.
- When Stripe says the payment went through, Scarab writes it on the job once.
- Until a shop links its Stripe account there is no pay link. Cash, check, Zelle and the rest are recorded by hand.
