What is a digital vehicle inspection?
A digital vehicle inspection, or DVI, is the shop's check of a vehicle recorded on a phone or tablet, with photos, so the customer can see what the technician saw.

On paper and on a phone
- A paper multi-point is a checklist the technician marks and the advisor reads out.
- A digital one answers the same points on a screen, adds photos of what was found, and reaches the customer as a link.

What a good one does
- Every point gets an answer, including "does not apply". A blank is not an answer.
- A photo goes on the point it explains.
- A finding ties to the estimate line it asks for, so the customer reads the reason beside the price.
- Different jobs get different sheets: a quick courtesy check is not a diagnosis.

Where Scarab OS does this
- Three sheets: courtesy multi-point, regular diagnosis, deep diagnostic.
- Four answers on every point, up to eight photos.
- Findings reach the estimate, and the customer opens the report from a link.

Questions shops ask
What is a DVI?
A digital vehicle inspection: the shop's check of a vehicle on a phone or tablet, with photos, that the customer reads from a link.
Is a DVI the same as a multi-point inspection?
A multi-point is the checklist. A DVI is that checklist done on a screen, with photos the customer can see.
Does a digital inspection replace a DOT inspection?
No. A shop's own inspection is not the federal annual inspection a commercial truck needs.
